// Indio, California

The valley's largest city, and its most everyday.

Indio is different from the rest of our service area, and the difference matters. This is the biggest city in the Coachella Valley and it is overwhelmingly year round. These are not second homes that sit empty in July. They are working households with kids in school, parents working from home, and one or two computers that everybody shares and nobody can afford to lose for a week.

So the priorities are different here. Speed and price matter more than white glove scheduling. A student needs the laptop back before the assignment is due. A family needs the desktop with fifteen years of photos on it recovered, not replaced. Somebody needs to know honestly whether a seven year old machine is worth another 200 dollars or whether that money belongs in a new one. We give you the straight answer, and we lose repairs on purpose when the honest answer is do not fix it.

Indio also has the festival factor. Households near the Empire Polo Club and along the Monroe and Jackson corridors deal with real network strain in April, and anyone renting out a room or a house during festival season learns fast that guest Wi-Fi on your main network is a bad idea.

// What we see most in Indio

The calls we get from this part of the valley.

→ 01

School and student laptops

Cracked screens, broken hinges, dead batteries, charging ports, and the district issued machines that stopped connecting. We turn these around fast because a student cannot wait a week, and we quote before we touch it.

→ 02

Family photo and document recovery

The desktop that will not boot with twenty years of family photos on it. We pull the data first and worry about the computer second. That order is not negotiable for us.

→ 03

Guest and rental Wi-Fi done right

If you rent a room, a casita, or the whole house, your guests should not be on the same network as your computers. We set up an isolated guest network with its own password so a guest's infected laptop cannot reach your files.

// Why desert computers fail differently

Heat and power kill valley computers. Dust gets the blame.

— 01

Heat, not age

Apple publishes a non-operating storage limit of 113°F for its laptops and phones. A closed Indio house held at 90°F in August will pass that against an interior wall, and a car interior will pass it before lunch. Lithium batteries and power supplies are what give out first.

— 02

Monsoon power events

Valley storm season runs roughly July into September. The surge that kills a modem usually does not arrive through the power cord. It comes in on the coax or the phone line, which is the one path almost nobody protects.

— 03

Then dust

Blow sand is finer than ordinary household dust and packs into heatsink fins instead of sitting on them. It is real, and it is an accelerant. It is rarely the root cause we find when a desert machine dies.

// Indio questions

What Indio customers actually ask.

My kid's school laptop is broken. Can you fix it or does the district have to?
It depends on who owns it. If the district issued it, check their policy first because they may require their own repair channel. If it is your own laptop, bring it in. Screens, hinges, batteries, and charging ports are among the most common repairs we do and we prioritize student machines.
I do not have a lot to spend. Will you tell me if it is not worth fixing?
Yes, every time. Diagnostics are free. If your computer is seven or eight years old and needs 300 dollars in work, we will usually tell you to put that money toward a replacement instead. We would rather lose the repair than take your money for a machine that is going to fail again in six months.
Can you recover photos from a computer that will not turn on?
Usually yes. A computer that will not power on very often has perfectly healthy data on a perfectly healthy drive. We pull the data first, before any repair attempt, because recovery gets harder after somebody tries to fix the machine. Bring it in as is and do not let anyone run repair tools on it.
I rent a room during festival season. How do I keep guests off my stuff?
A separate, isolated guest network. It takes one visit. Your guests get internet with their own password, your computers, files, and cameras stay on a network they cannot see, and you can change the guest password after every stay without touching your own devices.
Do you charge to look at it?
No. Diagnostics are free for most residential issues. We tell you what is wrong and what it costs to fix, and you decide. There is no pressure either way and no charge for hearing the answer.
Is my personal information safe on the computer?
Yes. Our technicians do not browse your files, photos, email, or accounts beyond what the repair actually requires. If we need to open something sensitive to fix the problem, we tell you first and ask.
Do you offer a senior or veteran discount?
Yes. Seniors 65 and over and military veterans get 10 percent off all residential service. No paperwork, no card to show. Just mention it when you book.
