// Palm Desert, California

The only city where you can just walk in.

Palm Desert is home base. Our shop sits at 77564 Country Club Drive, Suite 220, a few minutes from Desert Falls, Palm Valley, and the Cook Street corridor. If you can get the computer in the car, that is almost always the fastest and cheapest path. No appointment, no ticket queue, no shipping it to a depot in another state.

The residential work here splits into two very different groups. North of the freeway and out toward Washington Street you have year round households, home offices, and a lot of Sun City Palm Desert residents who use their computers every single day and want them fixed today. South of Highway 111, up in Ironwood, Bighorn, and the country clubs off Portola, we are usually dealing with seasonal homes that get opened in October and closed in May, which creates a completely different set of problems.

Because we are local, a Palm Desert house call is usually a same day or next day visit. We are not driving in from Riverside or Temecula, and we are not charging you for a two hour trip.

// What we see most in Palm Desert

The calls we get from this part of the valley.

→ 01

Same day walk in repairs

Slow machines, blue screens, laptops that will not boot. Most Palm Desert customers drop off in the morning and hear from us the same afternoon with a diagnosis and a price.

→ 02

55 plus community tech help

Sun City and Palm Desert Country Club generate a steady stream of email lockouts, printer problems, scam popups, and "my grandson set this up and now it does not work." We take the time to explain, and we never make anyone feel stupid.

→ 03

Seasonal home startup and shutdown

Country club households leaving in May and returning in October. We handle the whole checklist: battery state, backups verified, router firmware, surge protection, and a safe thermostat number for the equipment.

// Why desert computers fail differently

Heat and power kill valley computers. Dust gets the blame.

— 01

Heat, not age

Apple publishes a non-operating storage limit of 113°F for its laptops and phones. A closed Palm Desert house held at 90°F in August will pass that against an interior wall, and a car interior will pass it before lunch. Lithium batteries and power supplies are what give out first.

— 02

Monsoon power events

Valley storm season runs roughly July into September. The surge that kills a modem usually does not arrive through the power cord. It comes in on the coax or the phone line, which is the one path almost nobody protects.

— 03

Then dust

Blow sand is finer than ordinary household dust and packs into heatsink fins instead of sitting on them. It is real, and it is an accelerant. It is rarely the root cause we find when a desert machine dies.

// Palm Desert questions

What Palm Desert customers actually ask.

Can I just walk in, or do I need an appointment?
Walk in. Our Palm Desert shop takes walk ins during business hours and diagnostics are free for most residential issues. If you want to be sure a technician is free the moment you arrive, call ahead at (760) 278-9676 and we will hold a slot.
How fast can you get to my house in Palm Desert?
Usually same day or next day. From our Country Club Drive shop, most Palm Desert addresses are 5 to 10 minutes away, so we are not charging you for windshield time the way a valley wide mobile service has to.
Do you work with Sun City Palm Desert residents?
Constantly. Sun City is one of our largest residential neighborhoods. We are used to the gate procedure, we can do in home visits, and seniors 65 and over get 10 percent off residential service with no paperwork.
My computer sat in the house all summer and now it will not start. Is it dead?
Often not. The most common summer failure we see is a swollen or dead lithium battery and a power supply that will no longer hold under load, not a dead motherboard. Bring it in before you buy a replacement. Diagnostics are free and we will tell you honestly if it is not worth fixing.
Do you charge to look at it?
No. Diagnostics are free for most residential issues. We tell you what is wrong and what it costs to fix, and you decide. There is no pressure either way and no charge for hearing the answer.
Is my personal information safe on the computer?
Yes. Our technicians do not browse your files, photos, email, or accounts beyond what the repair actually requires. If we need to open something sensitive to fix the problem, we tell you first and ask.
Do you offer a senior or veteran discount?
Yes. Seniors 65 and over and military veterans get 10 percent off all residential service. No paperwork, no card to show. Just mention it when you book.
